Welcome to my ebay store I am downsizing my DOLL DR Biz supplies as I wind things down for health reasons, so do check my store, for heads, bodies and wigs and of course dolls! I sell my own items and for a few clients. I am in the process of listing many of my china doll heads, as well as a few doll bodies of different materials. This is one of many heads I will be listing, and this is the second largest of FOUR PET NAME china heads. THIS and the others will be HEADS ONLY– no bodies. I also have a few doll Bodies listed, composition as well as kid so do check my store and some of my and client’s dolls for sale. This is a really nice china head, a turned shoulder head made by Hertwig in turn of century period, featuring the ‘Low forehead style’ hairdo typical of dolls made in the 1890s to early 1900sBlack hair has a few rubs as expected from the age, blue painted eyes, With the name ETHEL- on her shirt front. She is a hair under 5 3/4″ high and has been a beautiful stand alone piece of art in a cabinet with my other doll heads. I have had a large variety of all styles of china heads in a display cabinet, I will also be listing other hairstyles and makers. As you collect china dolls you will learn how the hair styles indicate period they were made. Low forehead examples like these are a great entry level into collecting, and a must if you want a complete collection. She has a very small chip at back of shoulder plate at bottom edge, which won’t show if she gets a body but is otherwise very small and not an issue. Give her a body and clothes, or display her on a shelf as is! Factory flaw in their firing process made a tiny ridge on one eyebrow that is not really visible unless you get very close to inspect. They apparently didn’t consider it a problem as they painted the eyebrow right over it. Very nice overall in appearance.She is just under 5 3/4″ high, the shoulder plate measurements in width across front that attach to the cloth body are 4 1/2″ wide and from front to back– around 2 1/2″ in depth between front and back, so you can use that to gauge the correct size body if you make a doll. IE top of body needs to accommodate those measurements. From my own personal collection, ships from my smoke free home.
