GUMSLINGER (Chris Webb, published by Wizard FX Productions) –This is one of those « impromptu » quickie type of tricks that can cement your reputaton as a magical person. Probably not something that goes in a set show, by for a casual moment of magic, it is quite visual and surprising.You are with friends, and you take out a pack of gum — you remove all five sticks from the box, and hold then hold your hands apart, sticks of gum in one hand, gum package in the other. A momentary shake of the hands and instantly the gum and package change places. Gum and package can be shown pretty cleanly at that point, though they are not completely examinable. But you can hand out a few pieces of gum, and move onto the next miracle (which your friends will no doubt ask you to perform).You need to make the gimmick yourself, but the DVD comes with the only difficult material to find, so you should be able to put it together without too much difficulty. One important note: the DVD describes making the gimmick using stick gum that has both a foil and paper wrapper. My recent experience is that most stick gum only has a foil wrapper now. But if you adapt the instructions, you should be able to create the same gimmick to use with « foil-only » stick gum. And in fact, the visual change looks even better when you make it that way. But you will have to adapt how the gimmick is made slightly. Other than this caveat, you can use most brands of stick gum to make your gimmick.Opened for inspection, but in new, unused condition.
