eBay HIGHLY DOCUMENTED VICTORIAN DANIEL PABST McKean BLACK WALNUT SIDEBOARD Philadelphia, circa 1869 We are proud to present a part of American History, a Very Fine Victorian Renaissance Revival Sideboard, made by Daniel Pabst, a highly accomplished Philadelphia cabinet maker, who created this treasure for the Henry Pratt McKean family. He so designated this treasure by engraving the McKean family initials in the very crest of this Victorian, finely carved, Sideboard as it was to be part of the Family’s first treasured furnishings of their newly constructed Brownstone on Walnut Street in Downtown Philadelphia. At that time this Brownstone was considered the finest of its kind in all of the East Coast of United States. Included with this offering to substantiate the Proof Positive Provenance is a picture of the Sideboard published by the Bulletin, Philadelphia Museum of Art that includes the maker, Daniel Pabst, the year, circa 1869, References, and the fact that it was part of the original furnishings of the twin townhouses at 1923-1925 Walnut Street, Philadelphia. As if this is not adequate Provenance to insure this is the Sideboard in question, the maker included the new owners last name initials « McK » for McKean in the crest. We are also fortunate to be able to include with this Sideboard a picture of the family with the Sideboard and 3 more pages of McKean family History including the fact that a Senior McKean family member, Thomas Sr. was a Pennsylvania Governor and one of the original signers of the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE. References include: The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Bulletin, Philadelphia Musuem of Art, and the History of « Philo » and Stotesbury Mansion. We have been asked many times if we knew anything about the previous owners of these special Victorian Antique Treasures and until now, our answer was always NO, sorry!!
