The cassette will play, but the unit likely needs a new belt as the tempo is a little off. When I first tested it, all the buttons were working correctly, but as it played longer, they were not working as well as they had been. I don’t know enough to diagnose exactly what the problem is, but someone who knows what they are doing can likely easily restore this back to excellence and either keep it, or resell it for a nice profit. SEE VIDEO and ALL PHOTOS to verify the condition for yourself. The stop/eject button works, but it appears to have some residue on one end that won’t allow that end to fully push down, however it still works in stopping and/or ejecting the cassette. In the video, you will see what I mean specifically about this. Both headphone output jacks are also working. The unit has a very clean battery compartment with no signs of corrosion or damage. The unit itself has some signs of wear in the form of scratches and scuffs with some very minor paint loss in a couple of spots. The unit also still has the original blue canvas carrying strap. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS! This item requires 4 AA batteries that are NOT included with this purchase (I think I said 3 in the video, but it actually needs 4).
